Welcome to our Year 5 class page. Below is a list of weekly reminders:
Reading - Reading Records are checked on a Monday, with reading books changed if needed. We
ask that you read with your child each week and sign their reading record; if they read 3 times they get a raffle ticket for our half-termly draw. More than 3 times and they will get 2 raffle tickets.
Spellings - Spellings are tested every Tuesday morning. We practice our spellings in class and children
have access to Spelling Shed at home.
Homework - Given out every Tuesday, Year 5 have a 10 minute Maths Homework book and a
comprehension Homework book. We mark these in class and look ahead at next weeks
homework - don't forget to keep up with Spelling Shed too!
PE - PE is every Monday. PE kits should be worn to school on PE day.
During Autumn Term, half Year 5 are going swimming, the other half stay at school for their
PE lesson.
All the children have a class book, chosen from our class library and we spent 10 minutes every afternoon enjoying quiet reading time.
Church - At the moment we are not holding our Church services each week, we celebrate our Worship in the hall instead. We hope in the future Church starts back again and you are able to join us. There are some assemblies you are able to join us for, we will let you know about these on Class Dojo in advance.
Make sure you check Class Dojo regularly! Mrs Tomlinson will send regular updates and reminders, be sure to also check the class story, where you will be able to see photos of us in class.
