Good Morning!
Phonics each day will be set by Mrs.Howarth. If you have any problems, concerns or questions don't hesitate to contact me via Dojo. I will also mark your child's phonics work and provide their feedback.
Wednesday 13th January
Today’s focus sound is the next sound from phase 5. It is the ‘ie’ sound. The action for today’s sound is… to pretend that you are holding a big pie. Then put the up towards your mouth and take a big bite!
1. Can you impress your adults and show off your thrash rap skills? You could even ask them to test out your silent action skills. If your adult points to a sound – show them the action!
3. Next have a go at the worksheet to practise spelling and writing using today’s sound. ‘ie’ practise and apply. Remember to send it to Mrs.Howarth on Dojo
There is no expectation to print off any of the sheets. You can print, write onto the sheet on your device, write onto a piece of paper, or in a work book and send a picture, or simply spell the words/sentences onto Dojo and send. Do whichever works best for you.
Phonics is a crucial skill for your child. Please ensure that these activities are completed independently, although they may help to understand what to do, they must read and write the sounds by themselves in order to practise these crucial skills. At this stage we do not expect that words are spelled correctly, but are spelled phonetically.
