Weekly Update

We started the week with Y6 going to Hoghton Tower on Monday as they completed their Elizabethan topic. After school on Monday, our football team played their first match against Garrett Hall. The team lost, but I’ve been told that the boys played well. Well done to Liam Harvey, Harry Hart, Kyle Jones, Ollie Smith, Jack Murray, Harrison Teale, Sonny Corrigan, Harvey Shepherd, Charlie Badrock and Paul Davies. Yesterday Miss Parkinson took her class to Bedford High School for a session using Scratch. Scratch is a programming language and an online community where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games, and animation with people from all over the world. As children create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Following the session Miss Parkinson received this message from Mr Smedley at Bedford High, “Thank you so much for coming in today. What a wonderful class you have. They are a credit to you both and St Stephen’s” Well done Year 5. I am really proud of you. My Headteacher’s awards have gone to year 1 and Year 4 today. Congratulations!

Have a lovely week-end.
