Y6 – Children should produce more than an A4 side of writing that is accurate, creative and mature. Children should adapt their writing to different genres, using the correct features and voice. Ambitious and technical language should be used, alongside a range of literary techniques. Basic punctuation should be correct and more sophisticated punctuation should be used if not always correctly. Writing should be detailed and show a mixture of sentence types and openers.
