All Year 4 children arrived excitedly at school this morning for their 2 night residential to Bispham Hall. They loaded the coach and were ready to set off at 9.30am, waved off by their families. So far today they have been grass sledging, axe throwing and fire lighting.
It was a beautiful evening when Mr Southern and I arrived at Bispham Hall earlier. Many of the children were playing on the large green outside the accommodation block. They were excited to show us around and tell us all about their day. They have had a busy day that continued with frisbee golf, archery, making s'mores and their own hot chocolate. They have had plenty to eat - including hotdogs/ sandwiches for lunch with crisps and fruit and chicken curry/ pizza this evening followed by chocolate cake. A few of them decided to have a shower this evening, and as we left, they were all in their pyjamas having supper and watching a film. The staff have their fingers crossed for a good night's sleep!
Here are a few photographs from day 1.
Everyone was up and ready for breakfast ahead of today's activities: a day of orienteering, making tie-dye t-shirts and making paracord bracelets. The weather has been very mixed there too- with some heavy downpours. Here you can see them all in the dining room with a view to the field where they play in their free-time.
It was late in the evening when I next visited the children. They were all in their pyjamas and were excited to tell me all about their day's adventures and the food they had eaten. Thank you to the Nomad Rangers for looking after everyone so well. They have had a full cooked breakfast, wraps and sandwiches at lunchtime and pizza and pasta in the evening. There was no arguing tonight when bed time was called just after 9 o'clock. Hopefully they will have get a good night's sleep!
The plans for today are breakfast around 8.00am. They will then make their sandwiches for later. After they have packed their bags and cleared their rooms they will be be getting ready to head out for a walk in the woods. Hopefully Herbie will be meeting them on their walk.
