Low Bank Ground 2022

For the last 2 years we have not be able to hold our residential trips. Our Year 6 pupils are looking forward to going to Low Bank Ground this year. They are leaving school on Monday 16th May, returning on Friday 20th May. Keep up-to-date with the trip on this page.

Monday 16th May, 2022

Everyone arrived at school this morning with their suitcases ready to leave for Low Bank Ground. After checking in, and sorting out medicines everyone loaded the coach ready to leave at 9.30am.

The group arrived at Low Bank Ground in driving rain. It soon brightened up and they were all allocated waterproofs ready for the walk this afternoon. Tea comprising of spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread, followed by chocolate cake and custard was enjoyed by the group. They were then doing some orienteering after tea, followed by a couple of games of bingo, before heading to bed. The staff have their fingers crossed for a good night’s sleep tonight.

Mrs Lowe said the children were amazing last night, and all fast asleep by 11.00pm! An early start for some this morning. Up playing connect 4 in the common room before breakfast. A gorgeous morning up there too apparently. I wonder what today has in store for them?

Mrs Lowe's group spent the full day on the water today- canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding. I look forward to hearing more about how Mrs Lowe ended up head first in Lake Coniston! The children had a great time. The other groups were did a mixture of climbing, archery and walks into quarries and caves. This evening they have been working on their Low Bank Ground t-shirts. Sounds like they've all had a lot of fun. I'm sure they are all ready for bed after a busy day.

Here's our birthday girl! We all hope you have a great day.

All the children slept well last night, and have had a full English breakfast this morning. It's a beautiful morning there too, and all groups are ghyll scrambling at some point today. The day also involves some raft building and sailing. How wonderful!

Mrs Lowe tells me that they all had a wonderful day yesterday. The ghyll scrambling was superb and enjoyed by everyone. They had a party last night, and finished off with birthday cake and sweets. They must have all got to sleep eventually as it's getting later and later that everyone is awake. Again some of them are on the water today, and others walking and archery. Another fun-filled day by the sounds of it! I believe the walk turned out to be a challenging 7 mile walk today. The evening has been spent packing, buying things in the gift shop and they are currently enjoying a campfire. They are going to have so many stories to tell. Can't wait to hear all about their week.

Last photo for the evening. Just stunning!

Friday 20th May, 2022

A few bleary eyes and croaky voices this morning. Final activity of the holiday involves them all sailing across Coniston for an ice-cream. A perfect end to what seems like a perfect week.
