Low Bank Ground 2023

This year's Y6 residential trip to Low Bank Ground is from Monday 5th to Friday 9th June. Mr. Lawrenson, Mrs Lowe, Mrs Rogers and Mrs Wallace have accompanied the children.

Monday 5th June

The children all excitedly met in the school hall with their families, before setting off just after 9.30am. On arrival at Low Bank Ground the children had lunch before the first activity of the week. All groups were either kayaking or paddleboarding. This evening they have been orienteering around the site. A beautiful evening,as seen in Mr. Lawrenson's video.

Tuesday 6th June

The children all had a good night's sleep, with some getting to sleep earlier than others! Here are a few photos. One is from last night, and the others from breakfast this morning. More water activities are planned for today- with some of them going ghyll scrambling.

I've just heard from Mr. Lawrenson, and he tells me that they have had a fab day. It's been difficult to take pictures with the activities being water-based. The staff have their fingers crossed that the children are tired tonight! As soon as I have any more updates I will be in touch.

Wednesday 7th June

A good sleep was had by all last night. Here are some photos from yesterday and this morning.

It sounds like they have had a busy day today- with the groups doing a range of activities such as self-led walk, making a fire, canoeing, visiting Cathedral caves, ghyll scrambling and kayaking to name a few. Here are a few more photos from today.

Thursday 9th June

Rector Martin paid a visit to Low Bank Ground today. Here you can see him with 2 of the groups. I've added a few more photos from today's activities, finishing with a campfire this evening. It certainly looks like they have had an amazing time. I am sure you will hear all about their adventures when they return tomorrow. We will keep you updated on their return journey tomorrow.

Friday 9th June

I had a quick message from Low Bank Ground earlier to say they were orienteering this morning after breakfast. Once they have had lunch they are setting off back. This should be any time now. We will keep you updated on their journey.
