Low Bank Ground 2025

On Monday 27th January our Y6 children will be heading up to Low Bank Ground, Coniston, returning on Friday 31st January. The group will be accompanied by Mr. Lawrenson, Miss Quinn, Mrs Peake and Mrs Wallace. Happy packing everyone!

Monday 27th January, 2025

It was just after 9.30am when the coach left school for the Y6 Low Bank Ground adventure. They arrived just before lunch- putting their cases in their rooms and going through a fire drill. This afternoon all the groups have been on a walk checking out the surroundings. A cold but dry afternoon. This evening's activity is orienteering on the field in the dark! I'm sure we'll hear all about that!

Tuesday 28th January, 2025

I spoke to Mr. Lawrenson this morning. It was a dry morning and everyone was getting ready for breakfast. Everyone had fun with last night's orienteering session in the dark, which was followed by bingo before going to bed. Today they are all off site for the day, taking a packed lunch out with them. Today's activities include a visit to the mines, abseiling and a self-led walk.

Apparently they have had a fab day today. Everyone has been abseiling, on a woodland walk, caving (Cathedral Cave tunnels) finishing with a self led walk. This evening finished with the Connect 4 World Championships!

Wednesday 29th January

I have spoken again to Mr. Lawrenson this morning. The group sound like they are having a great time. The weather has been kind to them, and the sunsets are stunning! The plan is that today they are all doing a water-based activity- ghyll scrambling or canoeing.

Some photographs from the groups hiking up The Bell, ghyll scrambling and canoeing.

Thursday 30th January

Another busy today saw the children canoeing, shelter building, playing games in the woods, fire lighting and toasting marshmallows. We are all looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and hearing about their adventures!

Friday 31st January, 2025

The children are all packed up and rooms have been checked. They had pancakes for breakfast and are doing some orienteering this morning. After lunch they will be getting on the coach for their journey home. They are aiming to leave at 1.00pm. If we manage to get a Waze link we will keep families updated on dojo.
