Hello

Good afternoon everyone,

I’m sure the news last night was not what you wanted to hear, but what you expected to hear. We must all continue to follow the government guidance for another 3 weeks:

  • Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home)
  • If you go out, stay 2m away from other people at all times
  • Wash your hands as soon as you get home
  • Do not meet others, even friends or family

Schools remain closed for the majority of pupils until further notice. Every child who can safely be cared for at home should be, to limit the chance of the virus spreading. Thank you to all our families for supporting us with this. We have had a very small minority of children in school with a small number of staff. It is not school as any of us know it. The only way to manage it is in the school hall with tables 2m apart. Should anyone need to contact me then please message me on dojo, facebook or via email at enquiries@admin.astleysaintstephens.wigan.sch.uk

From Monday 20th April, the teachers will continue to set work- and this can be found on the class page on the website and on dojo. I appreciate that this is a very challenging time for everyone – especially the children. We too would have preferred to have been returning to school on Monday for the start of the final term of 2019/20. Let’s all remain positive and be thankful for all we have. I’ve added some tips on how we can all get through this. Please continue to follow the guidance and we will then hopefully be back together in school sooner rather than later.

Take care everyone. Stay safe. Enjoy the beautiful weather, and don’t forget about Mr. Puckey’s photo competition.
