Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

Our teacher is Mrs Lowe and our teaching assistant is Miss Brennan.

heartWe hope you love our class page!heart

Things you might need to know..

Homework: Our homework is set on Tuesdays to be returned the following Tuesday. We use the CPG Grammar and Punctuation books and the Year 4 multiplication 10 minute test books. The pages to be completed are posted on our class page on Teams. We also have weekly spellings to learn on Spelling Shed and a focus times table. Please email or message Mrs Lowe on dojo if you have forgotten your log in details!

Music: We are SO lucky in Year 4! We have the opportunity to learn the cornet, tenor horn or baritone for the whole year as part of our music lessons!! Mr Ford and Mr Risham teach us from the music service in Wigan every Wednesday morning. It's really important that our instruments come to school on Wednesday mornings and are sent home again on Wednesday afternoons so that we can practise at home.

P.E: Our PE day is Monday, so that means that every Monday morning, we can come to school in our PE kits so that we are ready for our lessons in the afternoon! On the first half term of Autumn, Spring and Summer, we also have PE on a Tuesday afternoon with Rees Sports Company. Our next Rees Sports sessions will be immediately after Christmas.

Reading: Sadly, due to the current situation, we are unable to send home reading books at the moment. However, rest assured, that we all have reading books in class that we read regularly. Mrs Lowe and Miss Brennan work hard to make sure that our library is well stocked with a good range of books from new titles to old favourites! We also have guided reading sessions on a Wednesday morning to ensure we are progressing well. Mrs Lowe also makes sure that all of our English work is based on high quality texts, guaranteed to ignite our imagination! (Well.. hopefully!!) We are also encouraged to read widely and often at home. It could be comics, great stories, information books, joke books, cook books.. anything goes! Mrs Lowe thinks that anything that sparks our interest is worth reading!!

If you have any further questions or concerns regarding Year 4, please message Mrs Lowe on dojo or email her on mlowe@ststephensastley.org.uk
