  • Level 6 maths

    Tue 31 Mar 2015
There were more visitors to my office today. Adi, Alex, Jacob and Josh have been attending extra lessons in maths at Fred Longworth High school working at level 6. Mrs Holt nominated them for headteacher awards as they have been coming into school very early to attend the sessions. She says that their manners have been impeccable on the coach and they have stood out in the classes for hard work, great attitudes and enthusiasm. Well done boys. (Alex doesn't appear in the photo, as being multi talented he was taking his grade 3 flute exam at the time).

Based on the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, we had a special assembly and sessions of song, drama, games and discussion.

The workshop leader Diana, commented on what a wonderful visit she had. She said that all the children were very enthusiastic, creative and gave deep, thoughtful answers in discussion. She was impressed enough to say that our Year 6 were the best she has ever worked with.

Fintan, Liam, Olivia and Kit all gave excellent duet performances. Year 6 treated us to the beautiful song Refuge and with the help of conductor Mr Lawrenson played a skillful piece on the hand bells.
