We have had another busy week in school. On Monday morning our Sports Leaders attended their first ATSA meeting. Isabelle and Ashton are shown here presenting a cheque to Chris for Brathay Trust. This is a charity that helps to run our residential centres in the Lake District. Thank you to the staff for the Meet the Teacher sessions this week, and to those parents who attended. There was lots of useful information shared at the meetings. The week finished with our Macmillan Coffee morning today. Thank you to everyone who baked and bought the cakes.  It was lovely to see the family members in our hall this morning. I hope you enjoyed our assembly too. The remaining cakes were sold at playtime this morning and at the end of the day. I will let you know how much money was raised. Thank you everyone! Have a lovely weekend.

We reach the end of another busy week in school. We all really enjoyed meeting Boris the Robot on Monday. He helped us think about looking after our heart, and how to be heartsmart. He reminded us to enjoy being who we are and to be thankful for who we are. On Wednesday it was lovely to see many families in Church as we welcomed our new Reception pupils into the family of St. Stephen's. In our assemblies today my Headteacher's Awards have gone to Reception and Year 3. Both year groups are doing a great job settling in. Well done everyone! On Sunday some of our Year 6 pupils will be going to their first Confirmation class at St. John's Mosley Common. Do make sure you have the Macmillan Coffee morning in your diary on next Friday- 28th September. Have a lovely week-end. Let's hope the weather improves!

What a great job our Reception pupils have done this week on their first full week in school. It has been lovely to see them getting involved in everything- including going over to church, assembly, daily mile, exploring the environment in the Reception area to name a few things. Well done everyone! Year 3 started the week with a Stone Age Day- and shared some of their learning with their families at the end of the day. All our music lessons have started this week, including the Y4 whole class brass lesson. Year 3 have been swimming today too. This year it is just our Year 3 class that will be swimming. They will be going from now until February half-term. The lessons are now one hour in length. All our after-school clubs start again next week. My headteacher’s awards have gone today to Year 1 and year 4. I have been impressed with both classes for their great effort. Keep it up! On Monday we are all excited as Boris the robot is coming into assembly to start us on our Heartsmart journey. I’m sure the children will tell you all about it. Have a lovely weekend.

What a great start we have had to the new school year. The children are very quickly settling into their new classes. They made it really hard for me to decide on who receives my Headteacher’s Awards. The Awards were given to year 2 and year 6. Both classes have had such a positive start to the new school year. Well done everyone! We are now looking forward to seeing all our Reception children in school next week for the full day, staying for their lunch. This term has seen the children having fruit as their morning snack. This fruit is provided for our Infant children, and we have provided it this week for our Junior children. From Monday 10th September all Junior children need to bring in a piece of fruit or small pot of fruit. They can also chose to bring in vegetable sticks. We have made this decision for a whole host of reasons, mainly to encourage the children to lead a healthy lifestyle. Do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions regarding this. Have a great weekend.
