Well done to our Year 2 pupils. They have now completed their Sats. Mrs Howarth is extremely proud of the way the children approached them. Today sees the end of this half-term. It has been an extremely busy one, and I'm sure everyone is now ready for the break. Next half-term we will be welcoming our new Reception parents and pupils to the family at St. Stephen's and preparing our existing pupils for their move to their next year group. You should have received a newsletter yesterday. There's lots of information on there. I have put a copy on the website too. The children will all have 2 pass up days in July - 2nd and 9th July. On 9th July you are invited to come into school at 2.30pm to meet your child's new teacher and see the children in their new classroom. This morning we welcomed some past pupils into school to interview about their time here. It was lovely to see our pupils asking them some questions. There is another session on Monday 11th June from 1.30 - 2.30pm when we invite any past pupils/ staff and their families to come into school to share their memories. Please return the consent form sent home this week about using photographs on the website, facebook and via dojo. Under the new GDPR regulations I can only use photographs once this form has been returned. Have a lovely break. See you on 4th June.

This week we have been really impressed with our Year 6 pupils and the way they have coped with doing their Sats. We are proud of you all. Thank you to Sharon for preparing them breakfast each day. We have had a couple of sporting events this week. On Monday we had a girls team from years 5 and 6 taking part in a football festival. Mr Lawrenson was really impressed with their performance. Well done to Riel, Molli, Lucy, Ellie, Olivia G, Olivia N, Mercedes, Jasmine, Megan and Jennifer. Last night we had a Year 6  tag rugby team taking part in a competition. More details to follow. It has been great to see everyone in their red, white and blue today. We had a lovely time having lunch outside today. Thanks again to Sharon for our cream teas. They were delicious! Have a lovely weekend, and enjoy the Wedding tomorrow.

It has been a bit quieter for us in school this week. Mrs Poole and a team of pupils are working hard on the work for our 50th anniversary. There is a lot of excitement as we prepare our time capsule. This is going to be buried in a special service we have with Bishop Mark of Middleton on Wednesday 11th July. We have been really impressed with the children this week and how hard they are all working. I hope they all have a good week-end. Good luck to our year 6 pupils as they prepare for their Sats next week. Next Friday all our pupils are invited to come to school in red, white and blue for the Royal Wedding.

We are now well on the way recognising and celebrating the 50th birthday of the school building. Mrs Poole and her team are busy planning all sorts of things, including a competition to design a logo for our 50th birthday. We have a facebook page, collecting photos and memories from the last 50 years. On Wednesday 11th July we will have spent 50 days recognising our birthday and Bishop Mark will be joining us for the morning. This week Y1 went to Stockley Farm. Mrs Poole was so proud of the children and they all had a great day. Thank you to everyone for their support around school yesterday- in particular the members of the Men's Group from Church- as school remained open for the local elections. All children on sandwiches have brought home a letter about the special lunches Sharon is preparing throughout our celebrations. Please return any orders with the money on Tuesday 8th May, if you have not already done so.  The children who usually have dinners will be having the special lunches too. Can I please remind all parents to park considerately around school and NOT park on the zig zag lines outside school. Thank you. Have a lovely Bank Holiday week-end.
