What a week! The children have been fantastic this week as they have reflected on the terrible events at Manchester Arena on Monday. Our prayers go out to everyone affected. Thank you to everyone for their generous donations today for our non-uniform day. Together we raised £195.85. Our Year 2 pupils had a great day at Blue Planet Aquarium yesterday. Yesterday Mrs Poole was at Leigh Sports Village with our Year 1 tag rugby team. Mrs Poole tells me they were amazing. Well done to Tommy Tatlock, Finlay Critchley, Aaron Fay, Matthew Kelleher, Stanley Rieveley, Arthur Brundrett, Chloe Kirkham, Emma Ormes, Seren Harris & Darcey Teale. Mr Lawrenson was out after school yesterday with a rounders team. They too were a credit to the school. Well done to Kyle Jones, Charlie Burgess, Candone Dickinson, Ethan Hobin, Harry Hart, Caitlin Greenhough, Emily Yates, Olivia Newell, Tia Grundy & Sara Carroll. Well done too to everyone in Year 5 today, who really got involved in the Greek day. You all looked great. Have a lovely half-term break everyone. See you all on Monday 5th June.

  • Manchester Arena Attack

    Thu 25 May 2017

Staff and pupils came together at 11 o'clock this morning to observe a minute's silence to remember the victims of the arena bomb attack. In our 'Window on the World' assembly in the Juniors this morning we reflected on the events in Manchester. The children requested to come to school in their own choice of clothes tomorrow (26th May) making donations to help the victims of the attack.

This week as we have been continuing to focus on our value of respect and reverence, we have focussed on Christian Aid week. Thank you to everyone who has returned the Christian Aid envelope to school. On Wednesday our Reception children had a great day at Underwater Street, and I have heard how well-behaved they were. Well done everyone! Unfortunately, the Football Festival didn’t go ahead on Monday due to the weather. The Tag Rugby Festival went ahead last night- and Mr Lawrenson was proud of everyone who took part. Well done to Paul Davies, Jack Murray, Sonny Corrigan, Ollie Smith, Candone Dickinson, Liam Harvey, Dean White, Alisha Southern, Phoebe Lawley, Caitlin Greenhough. A big thank you to Charlie Burgess for his support. Unfortunately, the Ladies’ Night isn’t going ahead tonight due to the few tickets that were sold. Today my Headteacher’s Awards have gone to Years 2 and 4. I have been really impressed with how hard they have been working this week. Have a lovely week-end. See you on Monday for our last week before the half-term break.

A fantastic week from all our Year 6 pupils. My Headteacher's Awards have gone to Year 6 - for their great attitude all week towards their assessments - and to Year 1- who have shown great maturity this week. Thank you to all the staff who have supported our Year 6 pupils this week, especially to Mr Peacock for setting up the hall each day for the pre-Sats breakfasts and to Sharon for preparing the food each day. It is much appreciated. Thank you also to the Parents Association for organising a party this afternoon, and to the parents who came along to help out. Next week we are taking part in a couple of sporting events: Girls Football Festival and Tag Rugby Festival. On Wednesday our Reception class are spending the day at Underwater Street. Don't forget to get your tickets for the Ladies' Evening next Friday. Have a lovely week-end.

What a strange week this has been? A Bank Holiday and Polling Day meant that we have had a 3-day week. We have all been very confused wondering what day it is! Still I’m sure everyone is looking forward to the week-end. My Headteacher’s awards have today gone to Reception and Year 5. Well done to the two classes for their hard work this week. Next week all our Year 6 pupils are invited into school for breakfast before they start their Sats. We are so proud of all the hard work and effort they have put into preparing for these tests, and I would like to thank all the staff, in particular Mr Lawrenson and Mrs Birchall, for working tirelessly in order to get the very best from our children. Good luck to you all! We know you can do it! Try to get a good rest this week-end.
