  • Last update of the half-term

    Fri 21 Oct 2016

It was great to see the staff and Y6 pupils back from Low Bank Ground earlier. I’m sure they are now busy telling their families all about their week. Hopefully you have received our newsletter and a letter about the out of school childcare today.  You will find them both on the website. Last night a group of our Y4 and Y5 children took part in the ATSA Cross Country Championships. The children did a great job. We are proud of them all. A particular mention goes to Ole Brown who was a Bronze medallist in the Lower Juniors.

    Have a great half-term everyone.

    Thu 20 Oct 2016
Another busy day at Low Bank Ground. Miss Quinn's group have been ghyll scrambling and on a self led walk today. Mr Lawrenson's group have been ghyll scrambling and orienteering. Miss Birchall and Mrs Wallace's group have been kayaking and on a mountain climb. It's been party night tonight! All set now for their last morning. They are having lunch at the centre, and then aiming to set off between 1.00pm and 1.30pm. By 2.30pm we hope to text parents to let them know of their estimated time of arrival back in school.
  • Low Bank Ground Day 3

    Wed 19 Oct 2016

Mr Southern and I spent the afternoon today up at Low Bank Ground. Notice how we went on a beautiful day. That wasn't done on purpose!  The Centre is in a stunning location. All children (and staff) are well and having a great time. The groups split for their afternoon activities- a mountain walk, ghyll scrambling and kayaking. We joined the group kayaking. They started on a practice lake, before moving on to Lake Coniston and then finishing off with jumping into the lake. Much fun was had by all. We joined them to eat this evening- beef casserole, wedges and sweetcorn, followed by apple crumble and custard. They all said how much they are enjoying the food.

  • Day 2 Update

    Tue 18 Oct 2016
    Update from Low Bank Ground:
Today has been brilliant. It has been Charlotte's birthday. Many happy returns Charlotte! Mr Lawrenson's group did Conservation and Quarry Walk, Miss Quinn's group did Orienteering and Conservation and Miss Birchall and Mrs Wallace's group did Self Led Walk and Canoeing. What a busy day!
  • Low Bank Ground Day 2

    Tue 18 Oct 2016

As it was for us, it was a rainy start to the day in Low Bank Ground. Everyone remained in high spirits. My plan is to join them for the afternoon tomorrow. Signal is tricky up there- as yet I have no further information on today's activities. I will be back in touch if I hear more.

  • Weekly Update

    Fri 14 Oct 2016
We began the week with a coffee morning with Mrs Rigby (our Family Welfare Officer) Mrs Rigby was pleased to speak to the families who were able to attend. She is in school each Monday morning. Please let us know if you would like to speak to her.
On Wednesday afternoon a group of our pupils took part in a swimming gala and swam extremely well. I hope to share a photograph next week.
Thank you to everyone for their generous gifts today for the Christmas Fair. Remember to keep the date free- Saturday 12th November.
Our Y6 pupils will no doubt have a busy week-end packing their bags for Low Bank Ground. On Wednesday next week we will be joined by our Rector, Martin, for our Church Service. Refreshments will be available in Church from 2.30pm if you are able to join us.
We are still awaiting our Ofsted report. It could be the end of next week or maybe after half-term before we receive it.
Thank you everyone for your understanding regarding the Before and After School provision. As you are aware, the current level of cover (from 8.00am until 4.15pm) remains in place for next week. Hopefully I will have more information regarding this matter by the end of next week.
I hope you all have a lovely week-end.
