  • A quick update

    Wed 15 Feb 2017

    Good morning,

Please note that this afternoon we are unable to serve refreshments before the Church Service. Rector Martin will still be with us for the service at 2.50pm.

Yesterday Mrs Killeen took a group of our Y5 pupils to St. Mary's High School to watch their production of 'Annie'. Mrs Killeen has said that the children were a credit to the school, both walking there and in their behaviour throughout the performance. I hear that they all really enjoyed it. Well done to: Charlie Badrock, Mia Hughes, Harrison Teale, Olivia Derbyshire, Gracie Waterworth, Dylan Hogg, Koby Lin & Harvie Matthews.

On Friday the Safer Internet assemblies for parents are as follows:

    Infant 9.10am & Junior 2.40pm.

Please join us if you are able to.

    Fri 10 Feb 2017

We have recently welcomed Chloe into year 2.

This week there has been a real focus throughout school on using the internet safely. Special thanks go to Mrs Howarth and Miss Parkinson for planning a range of activities for the children, in particular the work on #Hacker. The children all did a great job as ‘Cyber Police’ on Monday. Have a chat to your child(ren) about the important messages we have talked about this week. We will be sharing these with you in our assemblies next Friday, 17th February. There will be an assembly for Infant parents next Friday morning, and one for Junior parents next Friday afternoon. More details will follow at the beginning of next week.

A big thank you to a group of our Y5’s who proudly talked about their outdoor learning sessions to staff and pupils from Leigh St. John’s C.E. Primary School yesterday. Thank you to Harrison, Matthew, Liberty, Lucy, Lydia, Olivia, Ellie and Fedora.

Next week is our last week before the half-term break. There are some ‘Stay & Play’ sessions in Reception on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Sign up for one of them if you can. On Wednesday afternoon Rector Martin is joining us for our service in church. Refreshments are available from 2.30pm. There is a Tag Rugby competition on Thursday afternoon and Discos after school.

    Have a lovely week-end.

On Monday our football team played again. Talking to the boys, they were pleased with their performance. They won their match against St. Michael’s 9-3, and lost their match against St. George’s. Well done to the team: Harry Hart, Ollie Smith, Jack Murray, Kyles Jones, Harrison Teale, Sonny Corrigan, Harvey Shepherd, Liam Harvey, Charlie Badrock & Paul Davies.

This week I have been particularly impressed with Reception and Year 5, and my Headteachers Awards go to them this week. Well done!

Tuesday is Safer Internet Day. The theme this year is: Be the change. Unite for a better Internet. Mrs Howarth and Miss Parkinson have been busy preparing work for us in school next week. Look out for information on the website and via facebook. I’m sure the children will tell you all about it.

    Enjoy the week-end.
