Lots has been happening at St. Stephen's recently. Last week a number of our pupils took part in a spelling competition with other local schools. We also welcomed Keith Orrell in to school for a singing session with some of our Junior pupils. They had a great time. This week we had our Open day sessions. We welcomed a number of families in to school. They were shown round by some of our Year 6 pupils. There were many positive comments about school and our tour guides. Thank you to Emily, Faith, Katie, Ollie, Ellis & Owen. Congratulations to our first group of senior pupils.Well done to Ellis, Owen, Dahlia, Rihanna and Emily. This week they have received their senior pupil badges for consistently living out our school values. Today we have had our Christmas Fayre. Thank you to our Infant Singing Club and Junior Performing Arts Club for their super performance. Thanks also to Florence and Leo. It was lovely to see so many people in school and Church. Thank you to everyone who ran a stall or came along to support us. Special thanks to Santa.
Last week our Y6's had a fantastic time at Low Bank Ground. They took part in a wide range of activities, including ghyll scrambling, canoeing, conservation work and fell-walking. This week has been anti-bullying week. The theme this year is 'Change starts with us.' On Monday morning the children were given the task of being a secret angel for someone in their class. It has been lovely to hear how many of the children having been carrying out little acts of kindness. Keep it up everyone. It really makes a difference. On Tuesday we wore odd socks to school as we recognised how we are all different and unique. We finished the week with a pyjama day for Children in Need. We all also enjoyed an anti-bullying performance this morning, Hope. It really made us think about the impact of bullying. Another terrific week. Well done everyone! I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Another busy week in the life of St. Stephen's. The week started with all the children having their school photograph. On Tuesday our parents had the opportunity to meet with the teachers. We hope you found the meetings informative, and helped you to learn about how you can support your child. On Friday my Headteacher's Awards went to Years 2 and 4. Both year groups have impressed me with their mature attitude in school. Mrs Lowe was out of school with our KS2 kurling team on Friday. She was really proud of the team. Well done everyone.
