    Calise has a headteacher's award today for her amazing work in outdoor learning towards her John Muir Award. She has been carrying out lots of research at home about nature. Well done!

    Well done to Year 4, a few weeks ago they took part in a poetry competition to be published in a North West collection. An incredible 21 of them have been successful! Congratulations to Gracie, Liberty, Olivia D, Harvey, Dylan, Jasmine, Olivia G, Aidan, Olivia N, Charlie, Mia, Koby, Harrison, Leonie, Amanda, Hannah, James, Lydia, Kian, Harvie and Ella.
  • Diwali

    On Friday our wonderful Year 3s became teachers for the morning and worked with Reception class. Year 3 retold the story of Rama and Sita with help of pictures. They stared how Divali is celebrated today with lighting divas, sending Divali cards and making Rangoli patterns outside their front door to welcome their friends and family into their home. Mrs Duckworth enjoyed being dressed in a Sari and went to some of the classes to share her new outfit.

  • Rememberance at the Cenotaph

    On Thursday our Year 4 pupils went to the cenotaph as part of their outdoor learning work. They made some beautiful Remberance poppies to take with them.
  • Best School Grounds Award

    We have some fantastic news - yesterday was the Wigan in Bloom Awards and our school was awarded the Best use of Primary School Grounds trophy. This was a very prestigious event and we are proud of the achievement. The report for the award said that the school shows exemplary practice in ecology and conservation, alongside outstanding use of the school grounds for learning opportunities.
  • Field Sports Area

    Last week we had an area of the school field fenced as a safe sports area for our children. The area includes football nets and a climbing wall. This is something we have wanted for a long time and has been partly funded by a Lottery Grant. We are looking forward to using the area for lunchtime games, PE and house competitions.
