  • School Crossing Patrol

    Thu 19 May 2016
Thank you everyone who raised concerns about our school crossing patrol. You will have seen that we have now been able to employ our own crossing patrol, Vicky Stratford, who undertook training this week. This is a new pilot scheme for Wigan Council. Special thanks to our Chair of Governors, Mrs Pollard who has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the dangers of children crossing without a patrol.
Please help us to continue to keep our children safe and make the patrol a success by not parking on the zigzag lines outside school and on the crossing.
  • Year 6 Sats

    Fri 13 May 2016
This week our Year 6 pupils have completed the new style SATs tests in reading, spelling, grammar, punctuation, arithmetic and mathematical reasoning. Many of you will have seen in the press that these tests were of a much higher standard than in previous years. Mr Lawrenson and Miss Ormerod are so incredibly proud of how our Year 6 approached the tests.
We know they have worked incredibly hard this year to meet the new standards; their books show us the amazing progress they have made and the effort they have put in.
Well done to all of you for your great attitude. You worked hard on the tests, focused and never gave up. We cannot ask any more than you do your best and we are so proud that you did just that.
A big thank to Sharon for starting every day with a great breakfast to kick start our brains.
  • School of Military Passing out Parade

    Fri 13 May 2016
Our Year 5 pupils have been working very hard with the School of Military developing resilience, team work and problem solving skills. We are delighted to say that they have completed the course and so their pass out parade will take place on Thursday 19th May. This is a chance for our Year 5 to show the self discipline and confidence they have developed during the course.

The purpose of the Passing out Parade is to help children to be proud of their achievements as a team. Parents and relatives of Year 5 pupils are welcome to attend at 14.45 to see their children take part in the parade.
