  • End of half-term

    Sun 27 Oct 2019

The last week of half-term was spent rehearsing, performing and recording our iSingPop songs. The children all worked hard with Jess, learning the songs and the actions. I am sure you agree that all this work paid off in the performances. I am so proud of all the children. They were amazing. We loved having Jess in school. She really was inspirational. On Thursday we also had 16 pupils from the juniors taking part in a cross country competition. They all ran well. Well done to the team.

Mr Lawrenson was really impressed with our hockey team on Monday. They played well as a team, winning two games and losing two. Well done to Katie, Scarlett, Emily, Luca, Liam, Ellis and Kyan. On Tuesday Ben, Imogen, Liam and Faith joined Miss Quinn and I at Fred Longworth High School. They joined in a workshop with other local schools. They performed confidently at the end of the session. Great work! A big thank you to Year 4 who lead us through our Harvest Service on Wednesday. It was lovely to have so many family members and friends with us. We hope you all enjoyed it. A great time was had by all in the school discos last night after school. Thank you to the Parents Association who organised the event, and to Barry's Children's Entertainment and Mobile Disco. We especially loved the magic! Our prayers are with Josh and Roxanna as they prepare to be confirmed at St. George's Church in Tyldesley. Have a lovely weekend. Next week is our last week of this half-term.

We started the week with our Meet the Teacher meetings in years 1,2 and 3. Thank you to the staff for delivering the sessions, and to the parents who came along. On Tuesday I attended a meeting with our Anti-Crash Crew. This year St. Stephen's Crew consists of Michael, Darcey, Aston, Katie and Chloe. I was really impressed with the group and how they engaged with the pupils from other schools. The group will be feeding back to everyone over the coming weeks. All slips should be in school now for the ATSA Holiday provision over the October half-term break. Places will be confirmed next week. The children should have brought home the information regarding the iSingPop project, our Harvest Service on Wednesday and the School Discos on Thursday. Copies of letters will be placed on the website for your reference. Have a lovely weekend.
