    End of another busy week!

On Tuesday all the children watched ‘Superhero School’. Hopefully the children have spoken about it and the messages.

My Headteacher’s Awards have been presented today to Years 1 & 4. Well done to both year groups. I have been really impressed with your behaviour and attitude around school this week. The award consists of a certificate that the class gets to keep, and a bee. There is a bee for Infants and one for Juniors. The children have been helping me decide on a name for the bees. The Infant bee has been named Buzz and the Junior bee is Bob, with Honey coming a close 2nd!

Our dancers have been busy this week in two competitions. Mrs Newton tells me that the girls were awesome. We are all proud of the girls. Well done!

We held our Fashion Show last night. The children have been praised for their behaviour and their good manners. The evening was a great success. Thank you to all our models and the members of the PA for organising the event.

Congratulations to Sharon in the kitchen. It was great to see Sharon's work recognised in recent MetroFresh publications.

'Sharon regularly prepares the fruits of the allotment and works with the school on curriculum projects around food. The pupils love it, school loves it and Sharon love doing it! Well done Sharon!'

Today is the end of AntiBullying Week- though we have discussed that every day is AntiBullying day. The children have been exploring the theme of  ‘The Power of Good’ and the impact of their words and actions. On Tuesday morning a theatre group is coming into school, to deliver their performance ‘Superhero School’ to everyone from reception to Year 6.

I have awarded my Headteacher’s Awards to Years 2 and 6 today. I have been impressed with their behaviour and how they have conducted themselves around school. Well done!

Thank you to everyone for their support today for Children in Need and the Hurricane Matthew Appeal.  Particular thanks go to Mr Lawrenson and the School Council for organising the raffle.  We all got together at the start of the day for the raffle.  Together we have raised an amazing £349.19.  Well done everyone! Take a look at our photos.

Rector Martin will be in Church again on Wednesday afternoon for our Service. Refreshments will be available from 2.30pm.  Next week we also have the Fashion Show on Thursday evening. Tickets are still available from the School Office- £3.00 including a drink.

Have a lovely weekend. Let’s hope the weather is a bit kinder!

Thank you to everyone who came along to Parents Evening on Monday. I’m pleased to say that there was a 95% turn out. Hopefully you found the evening useful. Thank you also to the parents who completed the questionnaires. The information is being collated at the moment and will be shared with you next week. Members of our PA were on hand making refreshments and selling some really good-quality books. Thank you to you all.

Nationally next week is Anti-Bullying Week. We will be recognising this in school, and will send some information home. You should have already received a letter from the School Council about our plans for next Friday, Children in Need Day. All the children are invited to come to school in their pyjamas and bring a £1.00 donation. Raffle tickets are also on sale, where the children can win a range of Children in Need prizes.

We have new Headteacher’s Awards in both Infants and Juniors. Our bees are awaiting names – the children are currently helping me decide on names. Congratulations to Reception and Year 3 for winning the awards this week.

I hope to see you at the Christmas Fayre tomorrow. I am particularly looking forward to hearing our brass players in Church from 11.30am. Note that our musicians are not required to wear uniform.

    Enjoy the weekend.

It’s been great to see everyone back in school this week for the start of this long  half-term. Thank you to everyone in Years 1 and 2 for the support in coming to school in uniform on the day of their outdoor learning session, and bringing in a change of clothing for outdoor learning. It really does make a difference to the learning that takes place in the mornings in the classroom.

Please remember that it is Parent’s Evening on Monday. Members of the Parents Association will be serving refreshments and there will be a selection of books on sale.

There’s still time to bring in items for the Christmas Fayre, being held on Saturday 12th November. All donations for the raffle/ tombola/ toy/ book stall would be greatly appreciated.

I hope you are pleased with the photographs taken on Monday. We ask that all orders are placed by Monday 14th November.

Good luck to the curling team out tonight with Mrs Lowe.

    Have a lovely week-end.
