Again we have had many great things happening in school this week. Monday saw the arrival of some eggs in Reception. We have all been excitedly watching them hatch. There are now 10 beautiful chicks being cared for by our Reception children. On Tuesday our Year 5's took part in the Let's Sing! concert at Robin Park. We are all really proud of their performance and behaviour throughout the day. Well done everyone! Thank you to Mrs Deakin and Miss Burgess for their work with the children, and giving up their evening. My headteacher's awards have gone to Year 5 for being superstars this week, and to Year 1 for really trying hard with everything they do.  Mrs Newton was really proud of the KS1 dance group on Wednesday when they took part in a competition too. Well done to: Seren, Emma, Laycey, Darcey, Annabelle, Zac, Gracie, Isabelle and Evelyn. Year 3 are still selling raffle tickets for the Easter draw. The draw is being held on Tuesday morning. Our week finishes with Easter Bingo tonight at 6.00pm. Have a lovely week-end.

We thought this week was going to be quieter, but there's no such thing as a quiet week at St. Stephen's! It was lovely to welcome Nicole into Y3 on Monday. We started the week with our Y6 pupils taking part in a session learning about healthy body and mind and positive preparation for their Sats. There will be 6 sessions in total.  On Tuesday we had a team of Y5 pupils taking part in a rugby tournament. Well done to: Hassan, Luciana, Luke, Connor, Sam, Jennifer, Anna, Isabelle and Ole. On Wednesday our Reception pupils had a great afternoon with Nomad Rangers building dens. Y3 are collecting Easter eggs for their draw at the end of term. Harrison is carefully guarding them! Tickets are now on sale, and all proceeds are going to MIND. All of us have been doing the daily mile this week. I really am interested to see the impact this has on us all. Have a lovely weekend.

What a busy week we have had! It started off with our parent/ teacher meetings on Monday. I hope you found these informative. Our Y6 pupils have had the opportunity to develop their cycling skills this week. The instructors were really impressed with our pupils. Well done everyone on your achievements! On Wednesday Miss Burgess was out of school with our Water Polo team. She was really impressed with the children and how they worked together. Congratulations to Isabelle, Kian, Lydia, Liberty, Olivia G, Matthew, Harvey S, Olivia N and Charlie. This morning we launched the daily mile in school. Everyone joined in as they ran and walked round the playgrounds. We look forward to seeing all the benefits this will bring. The week finished with Y4 futsal and some football matches after school. I will report on these soon. The Church are holding their Spring Fair in the school hall tomorrow morning from 10.00am. Do call in if you are passing. I am looking forward to hearing our school choir sing at 11.00am. Enjoy the week-end. Let's see what next week will bring!

We had a great end to the week with our World Book Day assembly. Thank you to the School Council for organising it. It was great to see all the work the children have been completing with their houses. If you didn’t get chance to see the display after school, you will be able to see it at the meetings on Monday. Yesterday our KS2 dance team did a fantastic job at Leigh Sports Village. They didn’t come away with a trophy but made Mrs Newton proud. Well done to Ellie, Jasmine, Megan, Lucy, Grace, Anna and Brooke. Thank you to the members of the Parents Association for organising and running the discos last night. An amazing £331.70 profit was made! Well done everyone! Let’s hope the weather is kinder next week. Have a great week-end.
