Congratulations to our Reception class and to Y6 for making the best effort in our Walk to School week. These two classes also have earned my Headteacher's Awards this week. Our Reception class continue to be superstars. Mr Lawrenson and Mrs Killeen have been really impressed with our Year 6 class in their visits to the local high schools this week. Their behaviour has been super and they have really engaged in the sessions. Well done everyone! It was lovely on Thursday to welcome family and Church members to our Macmillan Coffee morning. Thank you to Rio, Nathan and Lealan for looking after our visitors, and the parents who helped out by providing cakes and helping on the day.  We raised an amazing £226 for Kidscan and £200 for Macmillan. Alison from Kidscan delivered an assembly to the juniors about the charity's work. We all enjoyed the assembly and learning about the importance of research. We finished the week saying good bye to Mrs Mee and Miss Wild (though we will still see Miss Wild on the odd occasion over the next few weeks).  We wish them all the best, and hope that they keep in touch. Have a lovely weekend.

Thank you to everyone who was able to support our 'Walk to School Week'. We certainly had the weather for it! We will find out the results on Monday. Here are Lois and Dahlia starting the week off for us. There were 8 of us at the Parents' Association meeting on Tuesday evening. Look out for information about the events taking place this year. On Wednesday Rector Martin was with us in Church for our Reception Welcome Service. It was lovely to have so many family members with us too. Scarlett and Ellis attended an ATSA meeting this week in their role as Sports Leaders. We will hear about this in the coming weeks.

On Friday my Headteacher's Awards went to Reception and Year 5. Reception have impressed us all with the way they settled into school. Well done Reception. Year 5 are showing that they can make a difference to others, and help the younger pupils with games on the yard at lunchtime. What is most impressive is that they chose to do this! Well done Year 5. This is what being Heartsmart is all about. Music lessons, including our Year 4 whole-class brass lessons, started this week, and Year 3 started their swimming lessons. On Friday afternoon we had our first house competition in the Juniors. Congratulations to everyone for taking part, and well done to Stuart, the overall winners. Here you can see our House Captains this year.
  • What a great week!

    Fri 06 Sep 2019
It has been great to see everyone back in school this week. We have been so impressed with how quickly everyone has settled in. Well done in particular to our new Reception pupils. Today my Headteacher's awards have gone to Years 2 and 6. Both classes have impressed me with their positive attitude to their learning. Keep it up! We finished the week with a visit to school from a World Champion! Emily Burgess, a former pupil of St. Stephen's, paid us a visit. In the Summer she took part in a Cycle Speedway competition in Poland. She won gold in the Under 16's World Championships, and silver in the Open Age Women's World Championships. Amazing. An inspiration to us all. Congratulations Emily and thank you for coming to visit.
