What a busy half-term we have had! Our Harvest service was lovely on Wednesday morning. It is always great to see how everyone gets involved. A huge thank you for your very generous donations. They have now been collected and taken to the Barnabus Centre and the Foodbank. After school our cross country team took part in a competition with other schools in our area. They did an amazing job, coming 3rd overall. We had our first discos of the year after school yesterday. A great time was had by all! Today we raised £83 in our clothing collections, and finished the day with our Y6 Hinning House assembly. We have now finished school for this half-term. I hope everyone has a good break, and we will see you back in school on Monday 29th October. On that day we are having the individual school photographs taken. See you then.

This week a group of our Year 6 pupils have been up at Hinning House. They had a great time climbing mountains, re-planting willow trees, canoeing and kayaking. For more information take a look at our 'Hinning House 2018' page. Everyone in school continues to work hard. My awards today have gone to our Reception class, who are a real part of all that we do in school now, and to Year 4. Mr Puckey has been out of class on a few occasions recently and his class have really continued to apply themselves. Well done to both classes. Congratulations to Hanover, who were our Cross Country house champions. We hope to have our last cross country training session on Monday (weather permitting)  for team selection. Our hockey team are also out on Monday after school. We have our Harvest service on Wednesday morning in Church. Letters have come home this week about our school discos on Thursday 18th October. Tickets now available. On Friday don't forget to bring in your Bag2School on Friday. A very busy time. We break up on Friday 19th October for our half-term break.

This week we have really seen everyone working hard throughout school. A very small number of parents met on Monday for the Parents Association meeting. They are busy organising a couple of events before the end of this half-term. On Thursday 18th October we are holding our first school discos of the year. The Infant one starts straight after school, finishing at 4.30pm. The Junior one starts at 4.45pm finishing at 6.00pm. Tickets will be on sale soon. On Friday 19th October it would be great if you could bring the Bag2school bag back ready for collection that morning. All funds raised by our wonderful PA go to supporting school trips (the coach costs) and buying extra resources for our school. This Sunday a group of our Year 6 pupils will have their final Confirmation class, ahead of Confirmation on Sunday 21st October. Next week many of our Year 6 pupils are out of school for the week at Hinning House. Mr Lawrenson and Mrs Wallace are there all week- Mrs Lowe and I are there for part of the week too. We are all looking forward to it. Have a lovely weekend.
