Thursday was the Junior trip to the Opera House to see Cinderella. The pantomime was amazing with great songs, funny jokes and a special performance from Torvil and Dean. Thanks to all the parent helpers and governors who helped out and a special thank you to Mrs Wallace for all her organisation skills in making the trip possible. The children were beautifully behaved and great representatives of St Stephen's.
On Wednesday afternoon we had a theatre company in school to join in Cinderella day. The children had a great time dancing and joining in songs. We had over 60 parents and governors come along too and we hope you enjoyed yourselves. A big thank you to Sharon and Donna for their fantastic themed lunch.
On Wednesday we had a fantastic Cinderella Day for the infants - they looked wonderful in their costumes and enjoyed all the Cinderella linked activities during the day.
Friday was our Christmas jumper day in school and the children looked fantastic in their wonderful range of festive jumpers. (Not to mention our staff). Thank you to everyone who made a donation, the money raised will be sent to Compassion UK for the projects of Peris in Kenya and Juan in Mexico. Without our support children living in these regions would not have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas. Through Compassion children will be able to have a Christmas present, parties, a nativity play, family celebrations and clothes for the the New Year.
Well done to our netball team. The girls are new to the sport and have been builing up their skills. This week they won with a 6-1 victory against St Thomas's - this shows how important it is to keep going and not give up. I am really proud of you girls.
Today we hosted a very special afternoon tea for Intergen, this is an organisation that provides retired volunteers to schools. The volunteers came from our own school, Garratt Hall and Fred Longworth. The children treated them to a choir performance, brass pieces and shared some of their poems.
They were an absolute credit to St Stephen's and our visitors complemented the children on their confidence, good manners, friendly nature and their willingness to share their learning in school.
Miss Ormerod was incredibly proud of them all. Thanks go Ashton, Luke, Jennifer, Ella, Harrison, Olivia D, Harvie M, Mia, Jasmine, Kit, Liam, Fintan, Millie, Jess, Katy M, Maddie H, Maddie C, Rachel and Amanda.
It is a busy day for brilliant children - Daniel has produced an amazing piece of writing about a dragon and a knight. The descriptions and language he has used were wonderful!
Thank you to Year 6, Joanne and Mrs Wallace who have worked really hard to create a beautiful outdoor learning Christmas tree. All the decorations are made from natural materials and can be recycled.
