  • Update 26.11.21

    Fri 26 Nov 2021

The time is passing by very quickly. Another week done! This week we have been talking about our Christingle Services and practising for them. It is lovely to hear the singing as I walk round school. The letters have come home for tickets this week, and hopefully you are able to join us. Before the service there will be refreshments, and at the end of the service there will be a collection for the work of The Children’s Society. The usual raffle for Christmas hampers will take place in the services that week too.
The nominations for Parent Governor closed at lunchtime today. Thank you to the 4 parents who have put themselves forward for this. Ballot papers will come home on Monday.
Could I please remind everyone about parking considerately around school – and not on the zig zag markings, yellow lines or across our neighbour’s drives. Your support with this is much appreciated.
Today we said goodbye to Mrs Stone. We thank her for all she has done supporting the Y2 pupils at lunchtime, and wish her all the best. We now look forward to welcoming Miss Berry to the team.
Have a lovely weekend, and we will see you on Monday.

  • Children in Need

    Fri 19 Nov 2021

It has been great to see the work the children have been doing this week on ‘One Kind Word’. We all know that it is important to be kind with our words and actions every day of every week, and not just this week.

Thank you to Mr Lawrenson and the School Council for carrying out the Children in Need Draw this morning. The draw was recorded and sent to the classes to watch. The School Council have distributed the prizes to the winners. Well done everyone, and thank you for your donations. An amazing £505.60 has been raised for Children in Need. This includes a fantastic amount of £104 from Deacon and his family.

Next week information will be sent home about the Christmas performances. For the dates and times please refer to the newsletter on the website and attached to my dojo message last Friday.

    Have a great weekend.

  • Anti-bullying week 2021

    Sun 14 Nov 2021

This week is anti-bullying week. We will start the week with Odd Socks Day, recognising that we are all unique. Throughout the week in assemblies and lessons we will be reflecting on our actions and how we treat one another, and how we can use kind words. Please refer to the information for parents in the parent guide section of useful information for parents.

  • Update 12.11.21

    Sun 14 Nov 2021

We have had another great week in school. Thank you to all the family members who have been able to speak to the teachers this week. We hope you have found the meetings helpful to find out what is going well with your child, and any areas where you can further support your child. It is essential that we work together to ensure your child succeeds in school. Please do take some time to read through my latest newsletter. In particular I would like to draw your attention to the attendance and punctuality figures. There are still a small number of pupils regularly arriving late for school. This has a negative effect on both the child and the efficient running of the school at the start of the day. Please ensure your child arrives at school between 8.45 and 8.55am.
Yesterday the children observed the silence at 11 o’clock on Remembrance Day. Thank you to them all for showing much respect, and to Mr Burrows for playing the Last Post on the trombone.
Do remind your child to wear odd socks on Monday as we celebrate that we are all unique. We will also be recognising the fact that next week is Anti-Bullying Week, and this year’s theme ‘One kind word’. Any children wishing to enter the Children in Need Draw are reminded to bring in 50p per entry, and everyone is invited to come to school in their pyjamas on Friday 19th November and pay £1.00 for Children in Need.
Please note that we are currently recruiting to 2 parent governor roles, and refer to the website if this is something you feel you are interested in.
    Have a lovely weekend.
