  • Ollie Award

    This week's Ollie Award is given for learning behaviour - listening carefully, settling quickly to work and being part of a team.
    In the infants, the winners are reception who have worked really hard on their listening skills.
    In the juniors, the winners are Year 3 for their exemplary behaviour settling to work and listening carefully.
    Well done both classes.
  • Maths

    Today everyone has been very busy with maths across school.
    Rec - Mrs Ogden has been teaching the class about telling the time and they have been using different ways of measuring time - sand timers, stop watches and clocks.
    Y1 - The class have been learning about counting in lots and some children have started working on multiplication.
    Y2 - Mrs Deakin had the children solving some tricky number puzzles using addition and subtraction.
    Y3 - The class were learning the columnĀ method of addition for hundreds, tens and units.
    Y4 - Mr Puckey was introducing decimal numbers.
    Y5 - Everyone was busy solving fractions of amounts.
    Y6 - Mr Lawrenson had everyone thinking with puzzles finding angles in shapes.

    If you would like to help at home you can practise times tables and give children opportunity to use money and tell the time

  • Lunchtime Awards

    There have been lots of lunchtime awards for good behaviour this term. Special mentions go to these superstars for being great role models in the dining hall and on the playground:
    Stuart - Theo Y1 and Ben Y2
    Hanover - Harmony Y3

  • New Rec Classroom

    Over half term our Reception class was completely refurbished. The class has new flooring, decoration and furniture. In addition they have a brand new set of resources, creative play toys and books to use. Thanks to Mrs Ogden, Mrs Newton, Ms Rowley and Mr Peacock for the time the spent over half term getting the room ready for the children.

  • Sad goodbye

    Today we were sad to say goodbye to Joanne Murray after 20 years at St Stephen's. The children gave a lovely, if tearful send off in assembly this afternoon. Joanne is taking up a new role as a foster carer and we wish her all the best for the future and say thanks for all years she has supported and cared for our children.
  • Curling

    Well done to our Year 2 Curling team who learnt how to play the sport at St Michael's school and had a fantastic time scoring points. Thank you Laelan, Joshua, Roxanne and Emily, you were great representatives of St Stephen's school.
