  • Update 25.9.20

    Fri 25 Sep 2020

Thanks to Sharon for baking cakes for all the children today, and to Mrs Pickford who looked after the staff with her delicious cakes. £186.42 has been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. Well done everyone! I have been in regular contact with Miss Quinn since our Y5 class had to self-isolate last week, and joined one of their morning Teams meetings this week. We are both so impressed with the children and how they engaged with their remote learning. There were some initial issues, but the Y5 pupils have now drawn up some protocols that can be shared with all classes. We all look forward to welcoming them back to school on Monday. Sharon has some cakes ready for you to buy on Monday Y5 too. Our Junior classes are trialling accessing their homework on Microsoft Teams. This will help the children become familiar with using it should they have to self-isolate in the future. In the Infants the children will continue to mainly use dojo with your support to access their home learning. We are also looking at the option of them using Microsoft Teams with their teacher and a small group of friends. This way the children can still socialise with their friends – something they all missed hugely throughout lockdown. Please be patient with us as we are all trying out new ways of working. I have been sent another letter from the Local Authority that I will also share on the website. Have a lovely weekend, and I will see you on Monday.

  • Update 18th September

    Fri 18 Sep 2020
Thank you to all our families using Breakfast Club for their support with the changes to the drop-off arrangements. Things have worked well with the children using the hall. Our Reception pupils have had a super first full week in school. Well done to them all. On Wednesday we received the news of a positive Covid case in Y5. The children in Y5 are now self-isolating and accessing their learning at home. They return to school on Monday 28th September. Next Friday, 25th September, we are holding a slightly different event for the Macmillan Coffee morning. Sharon is going to bake some cakes, and the children are able to send in a donation to buy a cake. There will be cakes for any pupils with allergies. Have a lovely weekend.
  • Update 11th September 2020

    Fri 11 Sep 2020

What another great week we have had in school. I am so proud of the children and how they continue to cope with all the changes. Well done to everyone for coming in to school in their P.E. kit on the day of their lessons. Our P.E. kit remains the same, including a navy blue tracksuit. As this is part of our uniform it would be appreciated if you would support us with providing a plain navy blue tracksuit (no logos). Can I remind you that one adult only is asked to bring and collect the children. This is to avoid large groups of adults being on site at the same time. There are a number of children in the Juniors who are collected by their older brother or sister from High School. If that is the case, can you please remind them that they must not bring a friend along with them on to the school site. They are welcome to wait at the end of the drive. A couple of families have asked about the children bringing in bags. We ask that we can hold off with a bag at the moment. There is so much to sort out around the routines of unpacking bags in a limited space and the cleaning of surfaces, whilst all children are waiting to wash their hands. There is a slight delay with the School Handbook. This will be available on the website soon, and copies made available if required. We look forward to starting up Breakfast Club on Monday morning and welcoming our Reception pupils as they are with us full-time from Monday. Have a lovely weekend.
